Spoil or Fade (seconds)

I was once in a small acoustic pop band called 'the jolly beggars'. I thought I might publish some of our lyrics on this blog.

Spoil of Fade (Seconds).

Sitting in the loungeroom on a overcast afternoon;
there's dust on every surface, and work to do.
I've been here before, but it's not the same;
time passes quickley and things have changed,

and so life goes on,
and time waits for no-one,
and so...

Well there's something in the air that I just can't place;
it's been such a long time since I've seen your face.
So much in the news, people talking so loud;
I can't hear myself think as the lights go out,

and so life goes on,
and time waits for no-one,
and so life goes on...

Hanging out for the timeless place,
where the seconds rhyme and the trains aren't late.
Where all you lack are the things you've seen,
and a thousand years feels just like a day;
Won't spoil or fade.

Dreams come, dreams go;
as the world keeps on turning;
This narrative left untold,

and so life goes on,
and time waits for no-one,
and so...

Hanging out for the timeless place,
where the seconds rhyme and the trains aren't late.
Where all you lack are the things you've seen,
and a thousand years feels just like a day;
Won't spoil or fade.

Standing on the platform, watch the trains go by;
another daily hit of the collective sigh;
all to Parramatta, the moments gone;
I'm standing on the verge of my future alone.

...and so life goes on,
and time waits for no-one.
...and so life goes on...

Hanging out for the timeless place,
where the seconds rhyme and the trains aren't late.
Where all you lack is all that's been,
and a thousand years feels just like a day;
Won't spoil or fade.

Aparently it was pretty good. If only someone had been brave enough to confirm it!
